Your Account

  1. Go to vexlynk.app/signup
  2. Choose email and password, or Continue with Google
  3. If you used email, open the confirmation message Vexlynk sends and confirm it
  4. Sign in

The account exists before you confirm it, but you cannot sign in until you have.

You need an account before the desktop app will open a workspace — it starts at a sign-in screen. The Free plan needs no card.

The desktop app keeps your session encrypted on your machine, so it opens already signed in rather than asking for a password every launch.

To sign out: Settings → Account → Sign out. That clears the stored session on this device.

  1. Open Settings → Account
  2. Edit the email field
  3. Open the confirmation sent to the new address

The change completes when you confirm it, not when you submit it. That is deliberate — it stops a typo, or a walked-away machine, from moving your account to an address you do not control.

  1. Open Settings → Account
  2. Choose to change your password
  3. Enter the new one and confirm

Forgotten it? Use the reset link on the sign-in screen and follow the email.

If you signed up with Continue with Google, there is no Vexlynk password to change — your sign-in is handled by Google, so change it there.

  1. Open Settings → Security
  2. Next to two-factor authentication, click Enable
  3. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app — Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, any of them
  4. Enter the six-digit code to confirm

The panel shows Enabled or Not enabled so you always know where you stand.

Save your recovery codes when they are shown. They are how you get back in if you lose the device with your authenticator on it.

Some sensitive actions ask you to re-authenticate even while signed in, so an unlocked machine cannot be used to change your security settings.

To turn it off, use Disable in the same panel. If that fails, sign out and back in — completing the code prompt during sign-in is what authorises the change.

Remove your data — three different things

Section titled “Remove your data — three different things”

These are genuinely different, and picking the wrong one either does too little or too much.

OptionWhat it removesAccount
Clear local dataThe workspace stored on this device — boards, media, documents, cached voice modelsUntouched
Delete cloud dataYour boards and connected accounts from Vexlynk’s serversStays active, plan stays active
Delete my accountYour account and everything attached to it, everywhereGone

Clear local data — for handing a machine on, or a clean start without losing your account. Because Vexlynk is local-first, this is where most of your work actually lives. See Privacy & Local-First.

Delete cloud data — for when you have used sync and want it off the servers while keeping the account.

Delete my account — permanent, and removes everything everywhere.

All three are in Settings → Data. Each asks you to confirm first, and the confirmation for deleting an account says plainly that it cannot be undone.
